Initiative of equality in the diversity of the University of Valencia

From the conviction of the richness of the diversity of each and every one of the people that are part of the university community, the University of Valencia is committed to the recognition, respect and revaluation of the differences that make us unique.

In this regard, in accordance with the legislation in force and attending the social responsibility as a public institution of higher education, the University of Valencia has launched an initiative for equality in diversity in the broad sense, which includes affective-sexual diversity, family and gender, and  the ethnic-cultural and the religious ones. This project,  promoted by the Office of the Vice-Principal  for Equality, Diversity and Sustainability, is called diversitats, with lowercase  and plural, with the intention of breaking the rule and the hierarchy and inviting to plurality.

With the commitment that the recognition of diversity constitutes a firm involvement and a priority for the University of Valencia, a collaboration agreement has been signed with the Generalitat Valenciana, through the Vice-Presidency and the Department of Equality and Inclusive Policies, for the promotion of education, research, dissemination and awareness activities in the field of equality in diversity within the university community.
