On 30 and 31 October, professors Juan Herrero Perezagua and Silvia Barona Vilar, members of the research project JUSOST (Justicia sostenible en estado de mudanza global or Sustainable justice in the state of global moving), participated as speakers in the International Congress 'Hacia una justicia humana y eficiente: futuro de los Métodos Adecuados de Solución de Conflictos' (Towards a human and efficient justice: future of the Appropriate Methods of Conflict Resolution), held in the city of Villareal.
The event was organised by the City Council of Villareal, the Universitat Jaume I in Castellón, the Chair of Police Mediation, and the Valencian government (Generalitat Valenciana) led by Prof. Andrea Planchadell Gargallo, full-time university professor of Procedural Law at UJI.
During the conference, it was discussed the growing role of the Appropriate Methods of Conflict Resolution (MASC) in the search for a more human, efficient and sustainable justice, in accordance with the social transformations and with the objectives of international institutions regarding the improvement of justice access.
The participation of members of JUSOST reinforced the commitment of the group with applied research, interdisciplinary dialogue and the promotion of justice models aimed at social cohesion, culture of agreement and peaceful conflict resolution within the framework of contemporary challenges.
