Instructions for opening common-use water fountains closed due to COVID19

The Health and Safety Service is receiving enquiries from centre administrators regarding the opening of common-use water fountains of the centres, which were closed due to Covid-19.

In accordance with the public health measures published as a result of the health crisis caused by Covid-19, no restrictions apply that could be related to the opening of these fountains, so they can now be used.

However, as they have been closed for such a long time, in order to ensure the access to safe drinking-water, these fountains must be cleaned and sanitised before being opened.

Depending on the type of fountain, and if it does not have contracted maintenance, a company should be contacted to carry out the appropriate maintenance according to the fountain's instruction manual.
