INTRODUCTORY NOTES
The use of masks and gloves does not exempt from the recommendations of interpersonal distance, hand washing, etc.
Personal protection measures against COVID-19 consist mainly of:
- PPE- Personal Protective Equipment, e.g. FFP2 masks
- Other equipment that is not PPE, for example, surgical masks, which are medical devices (MD) or hygienic masks (not PPE or MD).

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MAIN GENERAL PROTECTION MEASURES
Masks
- Medical device: surgical mask, CE marked and complying with EN 14683
- PPI: FFP2 respirator without valve with CE marking complying with EN 149
- Non-reusable hygienic mask that complies with the UNE 0064-1 standard or reusable that complies with UNE 0065
Gloves
- Preferred option
- PPE: nitrile gloves UNE EN 374-5 for protection against microorganisms: bacteria, funguses, and viruses, with CE and
- Second options in case of unfeasibility, alternatively
- PPE: nitrile gloves UNE EN 374-5 for protection against microorganisms: bacteria and funguses, with CE and
- PPE: nitrile gloves UNE EN 374-1 of chemical protection with CE marking and
because in any case after removing the gloves or mask, hands should always be washed with soap and water.
SPECIAL PROTECTIONS
Depending on the working conditions to be evaluated, for example:
- PPE: Full frame glasses or face shield UNE EN 166 with CE marking

You can use this FFP2 mask for a single turn. If you use it for short periods of time you can keep it between uses in a paper envelope.
GLOVE USE

Wearing gloves can give a false sense of security. Wearing gloves for a long time makes them dirty and can become contaminated. A person can become infected if he or she touches his or her face with a contaminated glove. Also, do not touch the workplace, because if the workplace is contaminated, the virus is spread. Taking off the gloves without contaminating the hands is not easy, it requires a specific technique and then washing hands well with soap and water.
Therefore, the use of gloves is recommended (in addition to health personnel) for the personnel of the janitor's office, registry, etc., when they are going to carry out a great manipulation of other people's objects (keys, papers, etc.). If the objects are not handled in a serious way, it is preferable not to wear gloves and to carry out frequent hand hygiene after handling (water and soap or hydroalcoholic gel). Gloves would also be recommended when there is a wound on the hand.
Remember: gloves are not a substitute for hand washing.
