Occupational Well-being and performance


 

Responsable: José María Peiró Silla

Description: In this line of research, special attention is paid to the study of workers’ welfare and its relation with the performing and productivity at work. This way, it researches two fundamental components for the relationship between people and organisations: the welfare of people at work in its different facets and also the efficient performing which contributes to the results of the organisation. It focuses on the synergies and antagonisms between welfare and performing and the precedents which have an impact on these aspects of organisational behaviour and its interactions. The research is carried out from a multi-level and longitudinal approximation, paying attention to the most relevant precedents of the different combinations between welfare and performing.

Psychosocial factors of Occupational Health 


 

Responsable: José María Peiró Silla

Description: This line of research implies a complementary development of the line we have just described. It highlights as a differentiated line, since it addresses a very important technologic field of the organisational behaviour psychology, focusing on R + D for the analysis and prevention of psychosocial risks at the organisations. Phenomena such as stress and psychosocial risk factors at work are researched. Other diverse positive factors are also investigated, such as the occupational engagement, the flow and other related aspects. Finally, psychosocial interventions are developed and evaluated to prevent psychosocial risks at work.

Human Capital, Work entry and Career development


 

Responsable: José María Peiró Silla

Description: This line focuses on the study of the incorporation of human capital to the organisations – youth employability – the misuse of this human capital due to unemployment or over-qualification and the strategies to enhance the professional career’s development. These questions require basic researching, frequently interdisciplinary, and at the same time they have an important practical relevance both personal and social. As a consequence, in our research we have suggested observatories monitoring youth employability and the strategies for the professional career development at its first stages. In this area, we not only analyse the processes related to salaried employment, but also to self-employment and the behaviour and entrepreneur initiatives.

Psychosocial analysis of Organizational Units 


 

Responsable: José María Peiró Silla

Description: The study of group behaviour and the work units implies a significant contribution to the psychosocial understanding of the structural and procedural aspects of these units and the results they produce on their members, the own unit and its stakeholders. Phenomena such have the climate and culture of these units, the leadership and interaction between its members and diverse cognitive-affective-emotional phenomena at group level are the main aspects researched under this line of work.
