The Accounting department at Universitat de València will be in charge of the preparation for this event. It is especially worth mentioning professor Begoña Giner who will be the director of the organizing committee, as well as one of the directors of the Master´s Degree in accounting, Miguel Arce Gisbert, who will be the treasurer.

The Annual Congress of the European Accounting Association (EAA) is one of the most important events on the subject in the whole of Europe.
Besides, it creates a networking context in which the attendees can get to know their colleagues from abroad, and in this way, keep updated about the European tendencies in terms of education on the topic.
During each edition, nearly 1500 professionals register to take part in the congress which normally takes place in spring. In fact, the previous edition took place this last month of May during the days 11, 12 and 13 at the University of Maastricht, where there were about 1000 documents presented at various symposiums. There are also plenary sessions about current topics, as well as a great number of research forums.
Since its founding in 1977, the objective of the EAA has been to gather the European community of specialists in accounting studies in order to establish a platform which guarantees dissemination of findings and, above all, to improve and foster research development and visibility, and also to improve teaching skills.

Of the above, the Annual Congress is the most important one, and it takes place in a different country every year. The host of the next edition, which will be the 40th, is Universitat de València. This is where multiple European professionals in the field of accounting will meet on the 10th, the 11th and the 12th of May in 2017.

Among those responsible for preparing the event, the most important ones are professor Begoña Giner, member of the Institute of International Economy at UV (IEI), and the director of the organizing committee; as well as one of the directors of the Master´s Degree in Accounting, Auditing and Management Control, Miguel Arce Gisbert.
