Pre-registration for the Master's in Social Economy (Cooperatives and Non-Profit Entities) for the next academic year 2020-2021 is open in its second phase until 23:59 on September 3 (local time).

The Master in Social Economy is face-to-face, taught in the Spanish language and lasts 60 credits. It can be done full time in one year or part time in two years. It is directed by UV professors Gemma Fajardo and Teresa Savall.

The objective of the Master is to improve the training levels of professionals who carry out their activity in organizations of the social economy; train new professionals who are willing to work in these organizations or undertake social economy projects, and develop their skills for applied scientific research.

The student will obtain knowledge and skills for the creation, administration and management of cooperatives, non-profit entities and other entities of the social economy, in their different fields: economic, legal, tax, accounting, labor, strategic, commercial, human resources, financial etc.

For this, the student must complete 60 credits in total

  • 36 credits of common subjects (including the Final Master's Project)
  • 15 specialty credits (to choose between "Cooperatives and Labor Societies" or "Non-profit Entities (Associations and Foundations)"
  • 9 credits to choose between business practices (professional profile) and the Social Economy Research module (research profile).

Mobility and exchange of students and teachers

The student has the possibility of taking some Master's courses at other universities that offer similar degrees. Similarly, the Master accepts professors from these universities to teach a subject or seminar in Valencia. This is possible thanks to the collaboration that IUDESCOOP maintains with the ENUIES Network and the RULESCOOP Network, among others.

From the 2013-14 academic year, there is also the possibility of obtaining a Double Degree with the 'Master in Management of the Social Economy' from the University of Bologna, in Italy.

Former students of the IUDESCOOP Master in Social Economy

The students of the Master can maintain a close relationship with each other and with their teachers and tutors once they finish their studies, through the Facebook group of the Student of the Master in Social Economy; the CIDEC Alerts Service; of the Network of Young Researchers in Social Economy (REJIES) or of the association CIRIEC-Spain, among other means of communication.

This allows graduates to stay informed, update their knowledge, obtain specific advice on employment or training opportunities, and participate in organized Days, Congresses or Seminars on the Social Economy.
