Universitat de València and its School of Engineering (ETSE-UV) organises a challenge in advanced data visualization in collaboration with a Datamaran company. The participants of the challenge will have to design a control panel using R or Python technologies to visualise data that would evaluate non-financial aspects of the business (such as climate change, sustainability, carbon footprint, gender equality, and so on).
In the era of big data and the use of all kinds of data sources, interactive data visualisation through a control panel is one of the most common tools used by executives and intermediaries for agile decision-making. In this respect, Datamaran has set a benchmark for developing this type of tools for businesses all around the world.
The competition is open to both individuals and teams, with the deadline for application on the 8th of April. Eligible for participation are all students currently enrolled in any bachelor's or master's degrees in data science or engineering at the Universitat de València. The main evaluation criteria will include originality, practicality, technological innovation (like the use of R’s Shiny or Python’s Dash applications), simplicity, and quality of the project. The winner will receive a 600-euro Amazon voucher and a diploma, which will be given at the ETSE-UV Talent Fest award ceremony.
