Organised by teaching staff from the Department of Microbiology and Ecology of the Universitat de València.

The 6th Meeting of the Microbiology Teaching and Diffusion Group will be held from 11 and 12 July 2024 in Burjassot, Valencia. The conference, which will be held in the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences of the Universitat de València, is aimed at students interested in microbiology and researchers interested in science communication, as well as pre-university and university teaching staff who are interested in innovation.

Those interested in participating must apply for registration from 10 May to 23 June 2024. Undergraduate, Master’s and doctoral students may apply for a grant to cover the registration fee before 7 June 2024.

Regarding the programme, the first day will focus on microbiology teaching at different educational levels, while the second day will focus on the diffusion of microbiology. There will be panel discussions, workshops and conferences, including the participation of Kennet Timmis, a renowned microbiologist who leads initiatives to implement microbiology content at European level. 

Finally, on Wednesday, 10 July, the activity ‘Microbes in La Fábrica de Hielo’, consisting of short talks on topics related to microbiology in a relaxed environment, will take place in La Fábrica del Hielo, a cultural space located in the eccentric neighbourhood of La Malvarrosa in Valencia.
