Objectives:
The course aims to explain the positive and negative consequences of medicines to the welfare of the population. The higher difficulty to develop and sell new medicines as well as the necessity to carry out long-term studies on their effects will be analysed. The course will explain the different grades in which populations have access to medicines, depending on the area of the planet. Additionally, the use of natural products as medicines and the influence of culture in the use of medicines will be addressed.

- 16th May - Historical development of pharmacological therapy
- 17th May - Contribution of medicines to healthcare
- 18th May - From molecule to medicine
- 19th May - Assessment of the positive effects of medicines
- 23rd May - Assessment of medicine safety
- 25th May - Rational use of medicines and self-medication.
- 26th May - The use of natural products as medicines. Phytotherapy
- 30th May – Ethno-pharmacology
- 31st May - Economic aspects of using medicines
