Prometheus Legacy

This is the first part of the cycle of conferences given by those scientists who have won the projects of excellence Prometed 2008 of the Government of the Valencian Community. Social communication of science is a major task that professional scientists must consider among their activities. This cycle pretends to approach the general public to the objective of these investigation projects and the development of the activities that these groups of excellence carry out.

The second part of the cycle, with the conferences of the rest of the main researchers with Prometed 2008 project, will be from October to December 2009.

This activity has the bidirectional nature that the social communication of science must have. Apart from the debate with the public that will be in each one of the conferences, the possible participants and listeners can address their questions and commentaries in advance if they write to the email address culturacientifica@uv.es

The assistance of these 11 conferences can be validated for two open credits for the students of the Universitat de València. This course also offers as a teacher-training course of the staff of the Centro de Formación, Innovación y Recursos Educativos (CEFIRE) (Formation, Innovation and Educational Resources Centre) of Valencia.

All the conferences will be at 7.30 p.m. in the culture classroom of the CAM Llotgeta.
