Néstor Vercher Savall (Dept. of Geography) and Ángel Campos Perales (Dept. of Art History) have been awarded the Extraordinary Doctorate Award 2022-2023
Last Monday, July 17, the extraordinary doctoral prizes of the University of Valencia corresponding to the 2022-2023 academic year were awarded.
These awards are an exceptional recognition of academic excellence and the dedicated effort of our doctoral students. It is an honor for us to announce that in this edition we have two winners from the Faculty of Geography and History: Néstor Vercher Savall and Ángel Campos Perales.
Néstor Vercher has been awarded for his thesis “Social innovation and territorial development. Case study in rural areas of Spain and Scotland”, directed by Prof. Javier Esparcia, and developed within the framework of the Local Development and International Cooperation Doctorate Program, of the Interuniversity Institute of Local Development. Néstor is part of the UDERVAL (GIUV2015-214) research unit and until now has carried out his teaching work in the Department of Geography of this Faculty.
Ángel Campos is a Doctor in Art History and has been awarded for his thesis “Art, collecting and noble culture in the Kingdom of Valencia in the time of Felipe III”, directed by Prof. Mercedes Gómez and Prof. Miguel Falomir. Ángel develops his activity in the GEOART (GIUV2013-055)research group and is a teacher in the Department of Art History. Like Néstor Vercher, Ángel currently enjoys an employment contract derived from the Margarita Salas postdoctoral fellowships.
