Manuel Lomas, new dean of the Faculty of Geography and History

Manuel Lomas is the new dean of the Faculty of Geography and History of the University of Valencia. He replaces Professor Josep Montesinos, who has exhausted his two terms, in office. Lomas has obtained 35 votes in favor, out of a total of 49 voting members.

 

The new dean team is made up of Emilio Iranzo (secretary), Marta García Carrión (vice dean of Studies and Academic Organization), Mireia López (Quality, Educational Innovation and International Relations), Frederic Aparisi (Culture and Student Participation) and Aleix Eixea (Economy and New Technologies).

Manuel Lomas Cortés (Valencia, 1980), is a doctor in History and professor at the Department of Modern and Contemporary History since 2020. Specialized in the study of the Moorish minority and the Mediterranean policy of the Hispanic monarchy in the 17th century, in the He is currently the principal investigator of a project that addresses Spanish-Moroccan relations in the Modern Age. Likewise, he coordinates the Moorish Studies Library (PUV) collection.

Secretary of the Faculty of Geography and History since 2018, his team includes several members from the dean's time, Josep Montesinos, along with new additions.
