Description

The principal objective of this research project was to evaluate the efficacy of a new motivational tool, in order to increase adherence to the intervention and its effectiveness, in programs with men with alcohol or substance use disorder (AUD/SUD) who have been convicted of gender violence.

The new motivational tool consists of the implementation of an individualized motivational plan (IMP) applied to each particpant with AUD/SUD, in which the reduction of alcohol and other drug use was established as a priority goal for change, as a fundamental factor for the reduction of violence. Another goal of this project was to establish neuropsychological profiles by analyzing the facilitating effects of AUD/SUD on this particuplar type of violence and to evaluate the effectiveness of PMI-AUD/SUD on cognitive abilities an adherence to treatment.
