  • December, 23, 2013: Unleashing the Power of Earth Observations: Barbara Ryan at TEDxBarcelona - YouTube Barbara Ryan demands that all Earth-Oberservation data collected from Governments and Institutions should be open and available to everyone. Barbara J. Ryan is Secretariat Director of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) an international, intergovernmental organization dedicated to integrating Earth observations to enable government, private sector and science leaders to make better informed decisions across nine Societal Benefit Areas including agriculture, biodiversity, climate, ecosystems, energy, disasters, health, water and weather.Unleashing the Power of Earth Observations: Barbara Ryan at TEDxBarcelona - YouTube.
  • December, 22, 2013: An Eye on the Earth: Stephen Briggs at TEDxBarcelona - YouTube This talk gives us examples on how beautiful the Earth can be viewed from above. Earth Observation can also help humanity in detecting Earth movements or helping with valuable information of disaster areas. Stephen is heading the Department of "Earth Observation" (EO) Science, Applications & Future Technologies of ESA at ESRIN (Frascati). An Eye on the Earth: Stephen Briggs at TEDxBarcelona - YouTube.
  • December, 21, 2013: Climate Change Challenges & Business Opportunities This one-day conference (15th November 2013), part of Climate-KIC's Professional Education Programme and organised by the Climate-KIC Valencia Region, provided a roadmap and relevant tips for spotting opportunities and obtaining advice on how to be successful and achieve real results through innovation. The aim was to stimulate professional exchange and mutual learning covering different topics on the opportunities arising from the transition to a low carbon economy and showcasing how it is possible to create commercial opportunities and do business out of climate change. Three scenarios were developed as significant Technology Innovation Landscapes, namely Earth Observation and Space Technologies with invited: Pierre-Philippe Mathieu (ESA, Italy), Ana Sebastian (GMV-Innovation Solutions, Spain), Antonio Falcao (Uninova, Portugal), Emilio Simeone (Founder and CEO of Flyby srl, Italy), Ravi Kapur (Imperativespace, UK), Energy efficiency: Smart Grids with invited entities: Iberdrola, Energy Technological Institute-ITE, and Efficiency and Economic Feasibility for the Treatment and Regeneration of Water with invited entities: Veolia Water, Aqualogy (AGBAR Group), University of Girona (Spain), University of Valencia (Spain).
