Seminar Tittle: The role of age and career in explaining the psychosocial experience at work
The seminar is devoted to analyse the role of age and career in explaining the psychosocial experience at work. The content could be articulated in these interconnected topics:
- The different conceptualisation of age in work and organizational psychology;
- The notion of career in W/O psychology studies with particular attention to the recent developments related to the evolution of the labour market characteristics;
- The analysis of some topic phases in the career of individuals:
- the work entry and the organizational socialization;
- the late career and the pre-retirement phase
- Methodological aspects in the study of career, with particular attention to the longitudinal methods and the analysis of change.
The seminar could be the occasion to discuss with students some recent results we obtained in a project between University of Trento, Portland State University, and University of Nice on “Age stereotype in workplace against older workers”.
