POLAR (Policies, Actors and Globalization) Research Group belongs to the Department of Applied Economics (Teaching Unit in Economic Policy) of the Universitat de València. This group presents a clear interdisciplinary perspective and is formed by researchers specialising in economic policy, political science, sociology and international relations.
The research group focuses on the analysis and dissemination of research on the political, economic and social characteristics and implications that the global economic order has on current societies.
As part of their research activity, the group analyses the different actors that shape the global order. This means that they pay close attention to the goals, interests and strategies of transnational corporations, international economic institutions, countries and other actors that constitute the system of power relations under globalisation.
The group also analyses the effects that international restrictions have on a country’s everyday reality, as well as the opportunities that public policies provide in the face of society’s many economic challenges.
Dissemination of the group’s activity is not only limited to the publication of scientific research on books or journals, but it also includes an active presence in newspapers, reports, social networks, etc.
