Completed 2020 L’Alqueria del Basket has set to work to open in the best possible way the training days for coaches of the Basketball Chair in 2021 with a renamed guest. Josep María Izquierdo will star in the first session of the New Year and the fourth of this season on Thursday, January 14 at 8:30 p.m.

Born in Badalona, Josep María Izquierdo grew up in the lower categories of Sant Josep de Badalona. His first contact with the elite came when he joined Joventut as assistant coach in 1988, where he remained as assistant and head coach until 2001. At this stage, he lived the most successful years in the history of La Penya, conquering among other greats titles, the 1994 European Cup, being an assistant to a Zeljko Obradovic with whom he returned to work years later.
After Badalona, he spent several seasons as head coach in Melilla, interspersing a stage as an assistant coach at Javier Imbroda's Real Madrid. Later he coached Breogán, L'Hospitalet and the Adepal Acázar and El Prat Foundation in LEB Oro and LEB Plata. In 2013 he joined Zeljko Obradovic again at Fenerbahce with which he once again managed to lift the trophy as the best team in Europe, winning the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague in 2017, with Nikola Kalinic as the top scorer in the final. 7 years of project in Istanbul that ended last summer of 2020.
