The members of the Jury of the twenty-fifth edition of the University-Society Awards of the Social Council of the Universitat de València met this morning at the headquarters of our foundation.
They did so to choose the people, companies and projects that will receive awards in the 25th edition of the University-Society Awards, which the Social Council of the Universitat de València organises in order to recognise the work of those who work to strengthen relations between the university world and its social and economic environment.
The members of the Jury deliberated on the nominations for four of the categories that make up the twenty-fifth edition of these awards: Alumni Plus/Insigne UV, Innovation, Digital Humanism and University-Society Collaboration.
A task that the president of the Social Council of the Universitat de València and its ADEIT Foundation, María Emilia Adán, has described as "extremely complicated", given the "high level of the candidatures" -she said- that have opted for the different modalities.
"It has been particularly difficult to deliberate the awards in this 25th edition, but at the same time, it is satisfying to see how many professionals and companies are increasingly committed to university-business collaboration as a driving force for socio-economic progress", said María Emilia Adán.
More than a hundred entities and people awarded prizes
Since its creation, the University-Society Awards have honoured more than a hundred people, researchers, companies and entities for their ability to promote relations between the Universitat de València and its cultural, professional, economic and social environment.
The 25th University-Society Awards will be presented on 27 January at the ADEIT Foundation, in a ceremony which, as in previous editions, will be attended by the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Ximo Puig. The event will also bring together leading personalities from the University, business and Valencian society.
A Jury headed by the President of the Social Council
The president of the Social Council and ADEIT, María Emilia Adán, will be accompanied on the jury by personalities from the university, business and cultural spheres. The Principal of the Universitat de València, María Vicenta Mestre; the former rector Francisco Tomás; the former president of the Social Council and ADEIT Carlos Pascual; the former presidents of ADEIT Alfonso Maldonado and Juan Manuel Pérez Mira; the president of the Social Council's Commission for Relations with Society, José Miguel Rosell; as well as some of the personalities recognised in previous editions with the Alumni Plus award of the Social Council have participated in the Jury: Pilar de la Oliva, President of the High Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV); Ángela Pérez, CEO of Imegen; and the writer Santiago Posteguillo.
