
The Board of Trustees of the Universitat de València will award, one more year, to the best examples of cooperation between the university area and its environment through the Awards Universidad-Sociedad, which this year will celebrate the XVII edition. Through these awards the work of all the agents involved in university-society cooperation, both from the area of the university (teachers, administrative and service staff, students, etc.) and from the world of business is recognized.
In this way, as explained by the president of the Board of Trustees of the UV, Carlos Pascual, through these awards "work of those persons or entities that contribute to strengthening ties between the Universitat de València and its socioeconomic environment and, ultimately, the birth of new initiatives in this area is rewarded”
Three main modalities
Besides the two main modalities of awards –Universitat de València and Enterprises and Institutions– in its XVII edition these awards include, as in the previous edition, the Awards for Teaching Excellence, aimed at academics and endowed with 3,000 euros by the Department of Education, Training and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana.
Inside the modality Enterprises and Institutions three awards will be given: To Research and Development; To Practices in Enterprises and Employment; and To Trajectory of Collaboration. Furthermore, the modality Universitat de València will recognise the work of all groups of the university community through awards To Research and Development; To the Activity of Postgraduate and Specialization, To the Group or Association of Students, To the University Management and To the Quality and Teaching Innovation.
The candidates to qualify for any of these awards may be submitted until next 28 October in the Registry Office of the Universitat de València. All information and forms to participate in the awards is available here.
Awarded in the XVI edition
In its previous edition, Garrigues Group, Indra and Mercadona were awarded in the modality of Enterprises and Institutions, while in the section dedicated to the Universitat de València, the researcher Hendrik Jan Bolink, the Master’s Degree in Management Control and Finance, the Association of University Dieticians and Nutritionists, administrative and economic services of the Faculty of Economics and Professor of Physical Chemistry, Rosendo Pou were recognised, in addition to six university professors for excellence teaching.
