The Marine Zoology Unit can provide a wide
range of consultancy, risk assessment and quality control
services to industrial and governmental bodies in areas relevant
to its research activities:
Conservation Biology
We have provided advice in marine conservation biology and
protected marine areas to:
Likewise we act as counselors on the conservation biology
of marine fauna for the City
of Arts and Sciences, Government of Valencia.
Parasitology
We provide services of quality control in relation to the
detection of parasites in fish of commercial interest and
risk assessment for human consumption. As such, we have worked
for leading supermarket companies in Spain, such as MERCADONA
S.A. and CONSUM.
Our services also include trials to evaluate the efficacy
of anti-parasitic drugs in aquaculture. We are currently providing
this service to the company Triveritas.
