Lines of research
- Climate change. The aim of this line of research is to study the temporal and spatial variability of temperature and precipitation, as well as of other climatic elements, in the context of the climate change theory in a vulnerable area such as the Mediterranean, paying special attention to the Valencian land.
- Meteorological risks. This line covers the analysis through numerical modelling, remote sensing and climate data, of factors and dynamic processes that trigger meteorological risks in the Mediterranean (torrential rain, forest fires and extreme temperatures) so as to improve its prediction.
- Hydrological system inputs. In light of this new situation concerning decrease in precipitation in the Mediterranean expected for the 21th century, this pioneer line of research studies another water input to hydrological system. The group works on the analysis of hidden precipitation of water mist and its potential applications.
- Remote sensors and remote sensing techniques. Development of remote sensors and remote sensing techniques for the improvement of climate change’s observation capacity.
- Remote sensing techniques for the approval and assessment of LST algorithms and products. Improvement and adaptation of algorithms for obtaining the Land surface temperature (LST) for several satellites, specially MSG-SEVIRI, EOS-MODIS, and ENVISAT-AATSR. Design and development of angular field radiometry systems.
