The CLIDET research group at the University of Valencia has signed a collaboration agreement with Blautic Designs SL for the use of their electromyography (EMG) technology in various therapeutic exercise studies. Thanks to the provision of the EMG device, muscle activation can be evaluated in patients with low back and shoulder pain, comparing assisted therapeutic exercise programs with standard exercise at different time points. This agreement strengthens university-industry collaboration, improves the functional assessment of patients, and allows Blautic Designs’ EMG technology to be validated in a real clinical setting.
The Research Group in Clinimetrics and Technological Development in Therapeutic Exercise (CLIDET) of the University of Valencia has signed a collaboration agreement with the company Blautic Designs SL, which specialises in the design of hardware and firmware, with the aim of promoting applied research in the field of therapeutic exercise and muscle activation monitoring.
Blautic's support in providing its electromyography (EMG) device gives the research group access to this kind of technology, allowing them to assess muscle activation, a key variable in patients with low back or muscle pain, where inhibition of various target muscles is common.
Both studies will include the assessment of patients with low back or muscle pain at different time points, comparing assisted therapeutic exercise programmes against standard exercise. The incorporation of EMG technology will allow for improved functional assessment and monitoring of the response to treatment.
For its part, CLIDET reinforces its commitment to knowledge transfer and university-business collaboration, aligning with the innovation and technological development strategies applied to health and physiotherapy. For its part, Blautic Designs is contributing its EMG device for the duration of the studies, facilitating the validation of its technology in a real clinical setting.
