Universitat de València has rearranged its budget to have a special financial aid of 1 600 000 euros in total for students affected by the DANA. It was published a month after the DANA happened. The Principal had asked for permission from Generalitat Valenciana to call for applications specific to UV workers, since current regulations keep UV from developing specific social aid programmes.
Principal informed the Governing Council the start of the application period for the extraordinary financial aid for Universitat de València degree, master's degree and doctoral programme students.
This aid is compatible with any other public financial aid and scholarship and it’s intended to cover extraordinary expenses due to the loss of familiar income, so it depends on this specific income.
This aid covers exceptional situations resulting from the DANA, such as damage to the family unit's habitual housing, loss of occupation or economic activity of a member of the family unit, disability, serious disease or death of a member of the family, provided that these situations lead to a reduction in the family unit's income.
