He presented a paper based on his first monograph `The Left and Digital Politics’

Marco Guglielmo presented research from its first monograph, ‘The Left and Digital Politics’ at the Conference of the European Sociological Association (ESA) in Porto (27-30 August). Marco presented the last Chapter of his book, which, starting from Gramsci’s concept of the Modern Prince, proposes the Digital Princess*+ as the transformative, pluralistic and fluid mode of organising to disrupt platform capitalism.

The analysis of how left-wing parties tap into the hegemony of platform societies is at the core of Marco’s book, which will be published, open access, in January 2025 with the prestigious ‘Critical Digital and Social Media Studies Series’ of the University of Westminster Press.
