
He joins as Marie Skłodowska-Curie postdoctoral researcher at the UV
Marco Guglielmo, previously a lecturer at Royal Holloway University of London and a PhD graduate from the University of Birmingham, has joined the DIGIPOL research group at the University of Valencia (UV) this February thanks to a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellowship. Through this postdoctoral position, Marco will research the influence of ideology on digital politics and policy and the organizational forms of political parties. Additionally, Marco will conduct short stays at collaborating institutions such as the European School of Political and Social Sciences (ESPOL) in Lille, France, the JGU Mainz in Germany, and the University of Wroclaw in Poland, enriching his research with diverse perspectives and international collaborations.
Marco’s expertise is at the juncture of digital and progressive politics. His most recent works have been published in Global Political Economy, and the British Journal of Politics and International Relations. During his experience at Royal Holloway, Marco has been part of the New Political Communication unit, where he co-organised the successful workshop series The Politics of Platform Societies and the symposium Political Agency within and of Platform Societies. Marco’s first book, The Left and Digital Politics will be published open access by the end of 2024 as part of the Critical Digital and Social Media Studies series at University of Westminster Press.
