The 42nd edition of the Summer University of Gandia (UEG) is the framework in which the inauguration of the exhibition “Paisaje y cambio climático. La transformación de la mirada” (Landscape and climate change. The transformation of the gaze) by artist Calo Carratalá, with production of the Universitat de València, will be open for visiting between 9 July and 30 August at the Cultural Centre Marqués González de Quirós of the La Safor capital.

The synopsis of the sample states: “Living a landscape, feeling it, narrating it from the symbolic value of the subjective perception that moves the static experience forever in its memory, elevates the emotional moment of the contemplation.

In the works of the artist Calo Carratalá, delight and awe get beaten by the immensity of an untamed and beautiful nature, sublime and disturbing, which notes, under the transcendence of its representation, omens of vulnerability.

The climate change consequences are unquestionable and our contemporary look in relation with the environment puts into evidence the lost nostalgia”.
