Evaluation of risks is the fundamental basis in every preventive action and planning. The aim of any evaluation is to detect dangerous conditions or risk factors in order to:

  • Eliminate or reduce the risk through measures of prevention in the origin, organisation, collective protection, individual protection or measures for training and informing the PDI and PAS.

  • Periodically control the conditions, organisation and working methods, and the state of health of the PDI and PAS.

Action Stages:

In a logical sequential order, those actions aiming at evaluating the risk will be undertaken:

Identify the dangers that exist in the workplace

  1. Collect information. In the first place, as prior measure, the necessary information on the organisation, characteristics and complexity of the work, on the raw materials and the working equipment at the UV, and finally, on the state of health of the PDI and PAS is obtained.

  2. Determining the workstations. Once the general information of the UV has been obtained, it is necessary to determine the workstations that will be evaluated.

  3. Determining dangerous elements. Once the characteristics of the workstations are known, the working conditions and the dangerous elements for PDI and PAS’ health are determined.

  4. Identification of the exposed staff. This will be made through a survey of risks valoration.
