If you are interested in science communication, on 20 and 21 May, the FORTHEM Alliance invites you to participate, in person or online, in this event organised by the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz.

In a world characterized by rapid scientific and technological developments, the transfer of knowledge from science to society is becoming increasingly important. While the traditional concept of knowledge transfer typically focuses on industry collaborations and the commercialization of research findings, other forms of transfer—such as science policy, science communication, and public engagement—are equally vital: Only by considering and implementing both perspectives—practical application and societal awareness of research—can research institutions ensure that scientific knowledge benefits society at large.

On 20 and 21 May the FORTHEM Alliance invites yo to this event which brings together researchers, science communicators, managers, policymakers, and industry experts, serving as a platform for discussing different approaches to knowledge transfer and science communication, exploring synergies, and generating new ideas for the European Research Innovation & Transfer (RIT) landscape.

With panel discussions, best practice pitches, workshops, and a closing BarCamp session, the event is designed for both experienced transfer practitioners and newcomers, as well as interested parties from research, research management, and industry.

If you are a researcher, a PhD or university staff interested in science communication and knowledge transfer, join us! Registration is open for participation on-site at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, as well as on-line (for panel discussions, key notes & presentations) until 9 May.
