This newly created work draws on the imagery of fencing to explore the tyranny of a system that compels us to pursue the gold medal at any cost. Point reflects on what we lose while striving to outshine everyone else and considers the possibility of forging an alternative path within a system that promotes social, economic, and professional advancement as the only valid route. Through the performance, we closely follow two fencers in pursuit of the immediate reward of scoring a point, perhaps forgetting that there is a horizon beyond the blade of the foil
