The Performing Arts Club of the UV, jointly with the Institut Valencià de Cultura, presents “Club de Debates en Artes Escénicas” [Debate Club in Performing Arts], within the programme Habitamos El Rialto, in order to bring students of the UV and the general public closer to the sociocultural and political debates that take place in the Valencian scenarios.
This course, the Club sessions are linked to several productions that will premiere at the Teatro Rialto during this season.
Several members of the teaching staff of the UV and of the artistic production teams will take part in sessions.
Teatro Rialto will host those sessions following the play.

Thursday, December 1st, 2022. About the 'Pau' [+] play

Post-performance colloquium by Jesús Tronch Pérez. Lecturer and researcher in English philology at the Universitat de València, where he teaches English literature and creative translation. His research focuses on the transmission of texts, the critical edition of 16th and 17th century plays, the translation and reception of Shakespeare in Spain, and the use of digital technology in this research.

With the participation of Gemma Miralles. Author/Director of "Pau", accompanied by the performers of the play.

Place: Teatro Rialto (following the play)

Post-play colloquium by Jesús Tronch Pérez. Professor and researcher of English philology at the Universitat de València, where he teaches English literature and creative translation. His research revolves around the transmission of texts, the critical edition of plays of the 16th and 17th centuries, the translation and reception of Shakespeare in Spain, and the use of digital technology in this research.

​​​​Club of Debates in Performing Arts

This year, the UV’s Performing Arts Club, along with Festival de Tardor Russafa Escènica, inaugurates its “Debate Club in Performing Arts” with the goal of making UV students and the general public part of the sociocultural and political debates carried out on Valencian stages.
This Club’s session is associated with the Carbón Negro performance. An homage and demonstration of resilience stemming from the testimony of Cía’s coal women. Álvaro Caboalles.
Programmed show at Los Bosques de Russafa Escènica.

The debate will take place at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication’s Sanchis Guarner Hall (avda. Blasco Ibáñez, 32) after the performance.
Debate and performance date: October 1st, at 7:00 p.m.

Guests: Ignacio Suay-Matallana and company’s art team.

Ignacio Sauy-Matallana: Professor of UV’s Department of History of Science and Documentation and Secretary of EuChemS Working Party on the History of Chemistry. Research, the history of customs laboratories, the material culture of chemistry and experts in the history of contemporary science.

2018/2019

Seminari d´Arts Escèniques

The Performing Arts Club of the UV, together with the Valencian Culture Institute, opens this academic year a “Permanent Performing Arts Seminar” in order to bring the students of the UV and the general public closer to the ongoing social, cultural and political discussions in Valencian stages. 

With the motto #identity, the sessions of this year’s seminar are related to four plays that will be released in the Rialto theatre next season, 2018/2019.
