Francisco Grimaldo has been appointed Research Associate at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies (ISTC) Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche's (CNR), Italy, regarding the collaboration established under the project "FuturICT Flagship Project" during the period: 01/11/2011-31/12/2012.
Dr. Francisco Grimaldo was guest speaker at the Winter Workshop on Economic Heterogeneous Interacting Agents (WEHIA'11) held in Tianjin (China) in November 4-5, 2011.
The research group of the project has become part of the Spanish node of the initiative FuturICT Spain as a strategic action in the FuturICT Flagship Proposal. This node will promote the engagement of Spanish ICT researcher groups on Complex Systems and Social Sciences in the European initiative FuturICT Flagship Proposal.
The principal investigator has joined the editorial board of the International Journal of Web Engineering and Technology ).
We are participating as a group coordinator in the Ramp-up phase of the proposal, FuturICT Flagship Proposal within the topic of social simulation with multi-agent systems applied to urban mobility in metropolitan areas. About Us

The research team consists of three members of the Grup de Xarxes i Entorns Virtuals (Dr. Francisco Grimaldo, Ms. Fernando Barber and Dr. Miguel Lozano) and a member of the Multi-scale Computational Physiology Lab (Dr. Rafael Sebastián). The Grup de Xarxes i Entorns Virtuals (GREV) focuses its research mainly in three areas: multi-agent large-scale social simulations, interconnection networks in distributed systems and distributed virtual environments. The Multi-scale Computational Physiology Lab (CoMMLab) focuses on the development of models for simulating and predicting the functioning of human organs.
