
The World Health Organization published an article highlighting the contribution of the Sanitary Parasitology Unit of the Universitat de València as a reference collaborating centre.
The Sanitary Parasitology Unit of the Universitat de València has supported WHO for more than a decade in reducing the risk of microparasitic diseases in humans and livestock. The Unit has recently been redesignated as a WHO collaborating centre and is considered a world reference centre for the treatment of parasitic diseases, particularly fascioliasis and zoonotic helminths.
As featured on WHO’s news section, the Sanitary Parasitology Unit of the Universitat de València has the multidisciplinary capability and fieldwork skills to conduct experimental studies in endemic zones, as well as the equipment and infrastructure to carry out laboratory experiments.
