The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València will host –on 20 and 21 November 2025– the International Congress “El dret davant les catàstrofes naturals després de la DANA del 29-O” (The right on natural disasters after the 29-O DANA), an academic meeting that will gather experts to analyse legal, administrative and social challenges derived from climate emergencies.

The Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València will be the place –on 20 and 21 November 2025– where the International Congress “El dret davant les catàstrofes naturals després de la DANA del 29-O” will take place. The initiative pretends to create a reflection and debate space about the legal and institutional responses regarding extreme events, which are every time more frequent and intense. 

The congress will address issues related with prevention and administrative management of the hydrological disasters, urban planning, and hydraulic infrastructure aimed at risk mitigation, as well as the political management of emergencies and processes of economic, social and environmental recovery, after catastrophic events. 

The organisation is carried out by Albert Ituren, Andrés Boix, Clàudia Gimeno, Alba Soriano and Adrián Palma, members of the Regulation Research Group of the Universitat de València.

The event will have the support of the Conselleria d’Educació, Cultura, Universitats i Ocupació of the Generalitat Valenciana, the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities of the Spanish Government, the Climate Change, Territory and Environmental Risks in the Mediterranean Chair and the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de València.
