The next seminar of the Master’s Degree in Social Work in the Healthcare Field UV will take place on Thursday, 5 February 2026, at 4:30 p.m., and is entitled “Diversity and Mental Health in Cinema”.
On this occasion, Professor Alberto Montes Martínez, a social worker in the field of mental health and associate professor in the Department of Social Work and Social Services at the University of Murcia, invites us to reflect on the representation of mental health in audiovisual media, mainly in cinema.
The seminar will address the representation of active symptomatology of mental illness, the importance of the social and family context, and issues related to suicide. Likewise, this approach will be carried out from an intercultural perspective. The methodology will be interactive, creating spaces for reflection, critical discussion, and the development of proposals.
This is an activity open to students, professionals, lecturers, researchers, and the general public, and it aims to offer a space for reflection within the framework of the Master’s Degree in Social Work in the Healthcare Field delivered by the University of Alicante, the University of Barcelona, the University of Girona, the University of the Balearic Islands, the University of Lleida, the University of Murcia, Rovira i Virgili University, and the University of Valencia.
