The research group Neuroethics (GIN) of the University of Valencia has been invited to participate in the study day "Neurotechnological Advances, Human Rights, and Elderly People" (Neurotechnological Advances, Human Rights, and Older Adults), organized by The Swiss Institute of Comparative Law (SICL) in Lausanne, Switzerland, on June 11, 2025. The event will be held in a hybrid format, both in person and via Zoom.
The SICL, an autonomous institute affiliated with the Federal Department of Justice and Police of Switzerland, is internationally recognized as a center of excellence in comparative law. With a large specialized library and a global network of collaborators, the institute promotes research and debate on legal issues of global relevance.
On this occasion, members of the GIN group, experts in neuroethics, bioethics, and human rights, will analyze the ethical and legal challenges posed by neurotechnological advances, especially concerning the protection of the fundamental rights of older adults. Also participating in this event is the "Association des Alumni et des Amis de l'Institut suisse de droit comparé" (AiSDC).
