PowerCo Battery

PowerCo is the global battery cell company of the Volkswagen Group founded in 2022. The company has begun production at its first gigafactory in Salzgitter (Germany) and is moving forward with the construction of the Sagunto (Spain) and St. Thomas (Canada) factories. With a strategic investment of over €3 billion and a planned annual capacity of over 60 GWh, the Sagunto gigafactory will manufacture battery cells for up to 500,000 vehicles per year. Production is set to begin in 2026 and will create over 3,000 direct jobs.
