Lines of research

Active and healthy aging.

Aging is a universal, intrinsic, progressive and deleterious process that can be influenced by appropriate behavioural habits, including the systematic practice of physical exercise. Therefore, identifying safe and efficient protocols is crucial.

Efficiency and verification of products and protocols.

Due to the current diversity of offers, objectives and populations, it is necessary to safely and efficiently identify products and methods that favour the improvement of psychological and motor performance, or even stimulate their recovery in those cases when there is a loss.

Aquatic conditioning and motor readjustment.

If carried out in an appropriate manner, physical conditioning and motor readjustment in an aquatic environment can stimulate performance and physical-sporting recovery for any type of population including those with most diverse needs.

Physical exercise in populations with special needs.

The prescription of physical exercise programmes to improve life quality is important in different segments of population. Security and efficiency of such programmes must allow for an inclusive practice for every kind of person, whether they have or not special adaptation needs.

Physical exercise in chronic pain.

This line of research will analyse the effect of different physical exercise protocols on non-specific chronic pain, with the aim of identifying their efficiency on pain, quality of life, physical performance, body composition and other health markers.
