Among its many activities, the Real Colegio Complutense primarily focuses on academic exchange through research fellowships and grants that allow professors, researchers, and doctoral students to conduct research at Harvard University or other affiliated institutions. The Academic Council reviews the submitted applications and allocates available funds to applicants with the best academic trajectories and the most noteworthy projects. Acceptance into one of these programs means becoming a Fellow of the Real Colegio Complutense.
Through its partnership with the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard, the Universitat de València offers the opportunity for professors and doctoral students to apply for funding for research stays at Harvard University. Information on the different calls available is given below.
Predoctoral Short-Term Research Fellowships

These grants involve monthly financing of $4,200, intended for research stays with a duration of three consecutive months, to be completed within the period between September 2026 and July 2027 (both inclusive), excluding the month of August as an eligible period for funding.

The call is intended for individuals enrolled in an official doctoral program, starting from the second year of enrolment, who hold Spanish nationality or that of a country within the Schengen area and have permanent residency in Spain.

It should be noted that this grant is not compatible with stays funded under predoctoral programs (such as FPU or FPI), although it may be compatible with other specific international mobility grants.

Among the fundamental requirements is the need to have a letter of acceptance from a professor at Harvard University, who will act as supervisor during the stay.

Faculty Short and Long-Term Research Fellowships

These grants are intended for full-time teaching and research staff, from the position of assistant professor onwards, who wish to undertake a research stay at Harvard University or its affiliated institutions.

The application deadline is currently open and will end on March 31, 2026, so it is recommended to plan the preparation of the required documentation in advance.

The duration of the stays may vary depending on the modality requested, including a minimum of 3 months for the short-term modality and between 4 and 6 months for the long-term modality. In all cases, the implementation period must fall between September 2026 and July 2027 (both inclusive), excluding the month of August.

The financial allocation amounts to $4,200 per month, intended to partially cover the costs associated with the research stay.

Postdoctoral Research Fellowships (RCCH 2+2)

The call is currently under review and content updating, and it is expected to be published in the coming months once its preparation has been completed.
All required documentation must be submitted in full and within the established deadlines to the person holding the delegation of the Universitat de València at the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University, who will be responsible for receiving, reviewing, and subsequently processing it within the framework of the corresponding procedure. This documentation must NOT be sent by the applicant to the RCCH administration.
