Dr. Francisco Alonso, Director of INTRAS and of the SEOFER Chair of Road Safety and Intelligent Mobility, has participated in the 21st Spanish Congress on ITS which, under the title "Contribution of ITS to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan", takes place in Madrid from July 13 to 15, 2021.

The lecture, entitled "The contribution of C-ITS to the decarbonization of mobility and the improvement of road safety for cyclists", reviews the requirements of the infrastructure to meet the challenges it faces in a changing environment towards safe, sustainable and connected mobility, as is being promoted from the European and Spanish Strategy in this area.

Special attention is given to intelligent urban and metropolitan mobility strategies, as a possible solution to the current concern about a growing accident rate related to the proliferation of bicycles and Personal Mobility Vehicles.
