Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS), as a prelude to the future connected and autonomous vehicle, encompass a set of solutions derived from the application of information and communication technologies to the field of traffic and transport, particularly aimed at cooperation and communication between the different participants involved: vehicle, infrastructure, users and network.
Within this framework, the concepts of vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V), vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I), vehicle-to-pedestrian (V2P) and vehicle-to-network (V2N) communication are defined, with the objective of exchanging and sharing a multitude of information between these systems.
This line of research has the aim of progressing in knowledge, practices, and analysis perspectives that enable the development of projects and products in the field of cooperative intelligent transport systems, in order to improve road safety, traffic and transport efficiency and mitigate environmental impacts.
