DS4M Mediterráneo is promoting a research project on safe and inclusive mobility in Gandia.

Meeting in Gandia

The director of the INTRAS of the Universitat de València, Francisco Alonso, has held work meeting in Gandia with the representatives of the various entities adhering to the DS4M Meditteráneo project: City hall of Gandia, Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor, FAES and the Chair of Territorial Thinking Joan Noguera - Gandia of the UV.

During the meeting, Alonso announced the objectives of the project, oriented in improving the attention and quality of life of the people with mobility and driving difficulties through assessment, training and advice tools adapted to the Mediterranean context.

The session provided the opportunity to present the program´s lines of work and to encourage the exchange of the experiences among the participating entities, in order to strengthen coordination between the university, social, economic and institutional spheres. Also, they highlighted the importance of transforming the research into the practical solutions that contribute to safer and more inclusive mobility.

The DS4M Mediterráneo Project is an initiative funded by the European Union and promoted by the Ministry of Digital Transformation and lead by INTRAS, in collaboration with IRTIC, of the Universitat de València with the support from ITS España.

The project has a total budget of 4.599.603 euros. This investment is intended for development of the technological platform capable of integrating multistakeholder mobility data (public and private), overcoming current fragmentation and enabling the creation of the new services and business models.

The main objective of the project is the development of the DS4M Mediterráneo Data Space, focused on connected, sustainable, efficient, safe, inclusive and responsible mobility in the Mediterranean Corridor, which is already eligible for Data Space Kit and is currently operational.

The DS4M Mediterráneo is based on the collaboration between public and private institutions and its presented as a reference initiative in applied research in the field of the mobility and road safety.
