ESTEPA, Studies of Territory, Landscape and Heritage, is a research unit of the Department of Geography of the Universitat de València, in the Faculty of Geography and History, which conducts basic and applied research work related to knowledge of the territory and its perception, landscape and cultural heritage.
Conceived and directed by Jorge Hermosilla Pla, full university professor of Regional Geographic Analysis, it was founded more than 25 years ago.
During this period, around 50 geographers have participated in research tasks, corresponding to more than a hundred projects, contributing to their research and professional training.
The territorial scales of Estepa's work are diverse, ranging from local and regional to national and international. Research has been conducted in various municipalities and regions of the Valencian Community, on the Spanish mainland and islands, Tunisia and Peru.
As a result of the research carried out, numerous publications, books, articles and papers have been published. Several exhibitions have been curated.
