Research project 'Sound cities. Urban phonospheres of the Mediterranean (1500-1900)' presents its new website.
We present the website for the project 'FonUrMed Sound cities. Urban phonospheres of the Mediterranean (1500-1900)' CIAICO/2023/55) that will amplify the initial research of the 'Sound city' (CIGE/2021/165) emergent research group, focused on the evolution of music and urban culture of València between 1609 and 1813 from the urban musicology approach.
From its results, it widens the research: broader documentation on Valencian musical life, comparison with the Italian cities of Naples and Palermo, chronological amplification from the 16th century to the 19th century, interdisciplinary integration of art history, and methodological reflection. The project aims to delve into the musical history of València and value its sound patrimony.
