From September 23 to 25, the programme's mid-term meeting took place at the Universitatea Lucian Blaga din Sibiu (Romania)
The three-day meeting, which coincided with FORTHEM's fifth anniversary, brought together participants from the Alliance's universities in Romania, including rectors, vice-rectors, members of the Steering Committee and other management bodies and working groups, as well as the Student Council representatives of the nine FORTHEM universities.
Three rectors welcomed the participants, who started the working sessions with an online connection with EACEA team leader Iwona Jablonska and DG EAC policy officer Ioana Dewandeler.
The different bodies and working groups focused on finalizing the mid-term report to be submitted to the European Commission in November. The different working groups carried out an evaluation of the project, reporting on its progress, present challenges and the future sustainability of the Alliance. The Steering Committee made progress on the Alliance's Strategic Plan, which must be approved by the Board of Rectors.
The meeting coincided with FORTHEM's fifth anniversary. The hosts organized a social programme that met all expectations. A guided tour to Sibiu and a visit to the medieval town of Sighișoara gave the participants the opportunity to discover the cultural heritage of Transylvania and contributed to the strengthening of the FORTHEM Community.
