Talks at the DAA. Talk by professor Sergio Mendoza, from theInstituto de Astronomia, UNAM (Mexico). Place: Astronomy Class of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, 5th floor of the Research Building, at Burjassot. Date: Monday 23 October 2017. Time: 15:00.

ABSTRACT:

In this talk I will describe a Primitive Variable Recovery Scheme (PVRS) to solve any system of coupled differential conservative equations in such a way that the obtained solution is the primitive variable vector and not the charge vector as is traditionally done. As an example, special Relativistic Hydrodynamics in 1D (1DRHD)examples would be presented to easily comprehend the PVRS. I will also present the convergence of the method studying the numerical errors of standard shock-tube problems of 1DRHD using the fluctuations of the numerical values with respect to exact analytic solutions. Finally, I will briefly discuss the aztekas.org project, a free GNU General Public License problem which uses a PVRS to solve conservative equations.
