Dynamics of scalarized neutron stars and black holes.

In the present talk, we will discuss the dynamics of spontaneous scalarization of black holes and neutron stars in extended scalar-tensor theories of gravity. We will focus on two particularly interesting nonlinear and highly dynamical scenarios for (de)scalarization - binary black hole merger and stellar core collapse. We will consider as well the gravitational phase transition that can occur for scalarized neutron stars mimicking the nuclear matter phase transition from confined hadronic to deconfined quark matter. For all these cases we will discuss the gravitational wave and electromagnetic signatures as a smoking gun of the (de)scalarization..
