The objectives of the Institute are systematized answering his academic entity status under the Statutes of the University of Valencia. As stated in the existing internal rules are objectives of the Institute:

    Promoting interdisciplinary research projects specific, coordinating different jobs that are being developed in this University from different areas of knowledge.
    Develop new lines of feminist research and promote collaboration and team research.
    Offering Postgraduate courses and programs and postgraduate programs from an interdisciplinary perspective.
    Organize courses for college and university faculty, with the goal of achieving a scientific update, revise teaching materials in use and encourage the creation and use of non-sexist.
    Collaborate and advise the technical team of the Innovation and Reform Experimental non-university, non-sexist content to include in all curricular areas and actions to promote coeducation.
    Establish partnerships with other university institutes scientific national and international, as well as related entities and centers.
    Maintain and strengthen relationships with other non-academic institutions and, especially, with the Institute for Women and the corresponding institution of the Generalitat Valenciana directed at women's issues (at the time, the Valencian Institute of Dona and currently the Directorate General of Dona).
    Disseminate research activities of the Institute and through journals, seminars and conferences and conference participation.
    Contracting with public and private entities or individuals conducting relevant activities of scientific, technical or academic, as well as specialized courses or training update.

In short, the Institut is a critical review of the discourses teachers, the promotion of scientific partnerships with other organizations and institutions and, above all, the development of alternative proposals in order to meet social demands, from a open and according to the need to promote equality between men and women. It is therefore paramount conducting specific and interdisciplinary research that have the initial budget and gender issues covering both personal work as team.
