UV is pleased to announce the first Student Driven Project of the UV-led Digital Transformation Lab: TOURISM HUB by Sara Alcaraz.

Sara Alcaraz, student of the M.U. in Tourism Management and Planning, together with her mentor Professor Rosa Roig from the Department of Applied Economics, is leading this ambitious and interesting project on smart tourism and how to use it to develop economically depressed areas.

Students from the Universities of Opole (Poland) and Palermo (Italy) belonging to the Alliance and from the Climate and Resources Lab of the UV are also collaborating.

This project aims to improve collaboration and coordination between the public and private sectors to increase the region's competitiveness in the tourism sector. It will also serve as a tool for the visibility of the destination and the marketing of the products or activities created in the Hub. This is achieved by operating under a shared brand, which offers guarantees to customers through a regulated quality system.

The model will be replicated in different countries with similar areas to be developed.

In particular in the Valencian Community it will be developed in the Serra de Mariola area with the collaboration of different public and private entities.

Finally, a report of the project carried out here and in the participating countries will be published.
