The School took place between 4 and 8 September in the Burjassot Campus
The Physics Erasmus Summer School “From Earth to the edge of the Universe”, organized by the Faculty of Physics of the University of Valencia, took place between 4 and 8 September in the Burjassot Campus. The School was organized as an Erasmus+ BIP by the universities of Valencia, Jyväskylä, Mainz and Palermo, all from the FORTHEM Alliance.
The School offered lectures, round tables, and various leisure and educational activities in an inclusive and participatory environment. In this edition, the School's programme included invited lectures in the fields of Astronomy and Astrophysics, and Earth Physics and Thermodynamics as well as contributions on other topics in Physics or related to it (gender and science, stress management in university students, didactics of Physics, Physics and Music, scientific dissemination, ...) by young researchers and guest lecturers. There was also time for participants to present their own contributions.
Besides its scientific content, the School provided a unique oportunity to know the Faculty of Physics of the University of Valencia as a potential Erasmus destination, to discover the city of Valencia, and to establish contacts with Physics students from various European universities.
About 80 students participated in the School, more than 50 as BIP students (among them, 9 from Palermo, 5 from Mainz, 4 from Jyväskylä, and 1 from Lisboa). The number of teachers exceeded 20, several of them from the partner universities. Some of the lectures were delivered remotely.
